Good Fall weather, Good Trail Stuff
Couple of good Trail events in the coming two weeks:
QUARTERLY MEETING Wed. Oct 17, 7 p.m. Galena UMC
First and Foremost, I hope you can attend our quarterly meeting this
Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the UMC in Galena, OH.
Jerry Rampelt, of the Ohio-to-Erie Trail association will discuss his
recent trail ride from this summer, and Ted Miller will present an
update on the Delaware County Trals Master plan.
Andy Brenner has kept the pencil to the paper guiding ODNR paperwork
through County administration and inching us ever so closely to an
RFP for our Clean Ohio Trail grant extending the trail north from
Plumb Road.
We'll also have updates from our Grants committee, the Trailblazers
and more.
Westerville Walk and Roll fest, Sunday, Oct. 21, 1-4 p.m., Westerville Rec Center
Westerville Walk and Roll-fest, Sunday, Oct. 21, 1-4 p.m.
Westerville Parks and Recreation's first Walk & Roll fest is set for
this Sunday. The event, held at the Rec Center, is designed
to "highlight the benefits of non-motorized and fuel friendly
transportation, allow the community the opportunity to explore
Westerville' s leisure path and bikeway system, learn how to be
healthier, environmentally responsible and have fun at the same time."
I committed DCFT to having our Information Table at this event, and
then realized that I am going to be out of town on that day. I either
need some volunteers to step up and run point on this outreach event,
or back the group out of it. If you think you can help, please drop
me a line.
DELAWARE COUNTY TRAILS FORUM, Wed. Oct 24, Hayes Building
On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 24, DCFT is cohosting, along
with Floyd Brown and Associates a Delaware County Trails Forum at the
Hayes Building. Administrators from all around the county have been
invited to this half-day event. Andy will give the opening welcome to
the group and I will be present the work of DCFT in a PowerPoint
presentation.
